Classic Blackjack

This is the original version of Blackjack. There are a number of versions available of this game and this version is how the classic game came about. This game uses one deck of cards and the initial point of the game is to get to a score of 21 or as close to it without going over. The whole point is to win without going over 21.

How to Play

The dealer will deal you and himself two cards. There are numbered cards, which are worth face value and Face cards are worth 10 points. The Ace card can be used as 1 or 11 depending on the cards that are drawn. If you are playing online, there are lots of versions that play with more than one deck of cards.

If the dealer’s hand is an Ace and a card valued at 10 that is considered a Blackjack. If you the player are dealt this hand then you cannot do anything else. If the dealer gets the Blackjack, no other players get a chance to draw any more cards to win. If there is a tie with the player and the dealer this is called a push and the bet is returned to the player.

There is an option to split, which entails a player getting two cards that have the same denomination such as two 7s or even two Kings. During Classic Blackjack, one split is allowed per game.

The whole point of winning is to get as close to 21 or hit 21 before the dealer does. If you can master the skills needed, you are sure to be on your way to playing like a pro.
